For months I looked for a Deidara wallpaper I liked (or any timeskip wallpapers, for that matter). Finding none (because I’m extremely picky), I decided it was up to me to make one for myself.
On the sites that I’ve posted it on, this seems to be one of my less popular wallpapers. I can see that it’s probably not the type to suit most people’s tastes. However, it’s a personal favorite of mine. I made it for myself after all. If other people like it, that’s just a bonus!
I vectored Deidara and the bird in Illustrator, from two different manga scans. I made the rest in Photoshop. The ‘explosion’ is a vectored ink splat from a scan I found on a stock photo site. The font is Base 02, which I downloaded from dafont.com.
The blue was taken from his eyes (the scan I vectored him from was a colored manga page), and brightened slightly. All the Akatsuki walls you see (including my other Akatsuki wallpaper) are red, red, RED. I wanted to go for something different, and I think it suits him. It also turns out his Akatsuki ring might be a similar blue, so it’s doubly fitting.
