Heh, I’m not sure I have much to say about this one. I first had the idea for this wallpaper the week Chapter 248 of Naruto came out. I saw Gaara’s new outfit, and thought it might make a fun silhouette for a parody of the iPod ads.
The original wallpaper was very simple - just Gaara’s silhouette with an iPod. And that was how it remained for nearly two years.
Shortly after I re-did the Sasuke wallpaper, I decided that I wanted to spruce up this one as well. I re-traced the silhouette to fit a larger resolution, including a few faint shadows of Gaara’s tattoo and the markings on his gourd to better imitate the real iPod ads. I cleaned up the iPod itself a bit, and I added text to the wallpaper. The sentence was inspired by a comment I made in the description of the original wallpaper on DeviantArt.
